National Adoption Month
November is National Adoption Month. Please join the Children's Home of York in our efforts to raise awareness about the urgent need for adoptive families for children and youth in foster care. Currently, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has more than 800 children waiting for an adoptive family to be identified.
Did you know that the Children's Home of York is a member of the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN)? One of the benefits of being affiliated with SWAN is that we are able to help interested clients through every phase of the adoption process. In addition, adoption of children in the Pennsylvania foster care system is largely subsidized through the program -- thereby minimizing expense to families wishing to expand their family. In most cases, there is little or no cost to adopting families. For more information on adopting waiting children through the Children's Home of York, please call (717) 755-1033 ext. 1236.
